Specific Interests: Continued involvement in land acquisition efforts, encouragement of natural resource management and development of high quality recreational and educational facilities.
As President of the Forest Preserve District, I have promoted two successful voter-approved land acquisition referendums totaling $142 million. In addition, I have encouraged the formation of partnerships with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and advanced the sharing of purchased properties with various park districts throughout DuPage County. I am also well acquainted in the areas of operational and master planning and fiscal management, including tax levy rates, bonds and bond ratings.
Charitable or Community Activities: Involved with the Friends of Danada, Graue Mill Museum Foundation, Kiwanis, Masons, Willowbrook Wildlife Foundation, The Conservation Foundation, The DuPage Community Foundation, Chicago Wilderness, Friends of Klein Fen, DuPage Audubon and a local chapter of the Sierra Club.
Additionally, I have established the Paul D. Pierotti Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit students seeking a college degree in the field of natural resource management or an environmentally-related field of study.
